Sharvari's Rise in the Film Industry

Sharvari's ascent to stardom has been both rapid and consistent. Nearly ten years ago, she was an assistant director on the sets of renowned filmmakers like Luv Ranjan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Fast forward to today, she is at the forefront of major productions such as Main Vaapas Aaunga and Alpha. Despite her newfound fame, the vibrant actress remains refreshingly grounded. We delve into her flourishing career and her celebrated performance in Main Vaapas Aaunga.

Reflecting on Her Career Journey

How do you perceive your journey from Bunty Aur Babli 2 to Main Vaapas Aaunga? I believe I've evolved with each film. Initially, I sought merely the chance to engage in work I am passionate about. Now, reflecting on the filmmakers and narratives I've been part of fills me with gratitude. The path hasn't been linear, but every experience has equipped me for the next step. Being involved in Main Vaapas Aaunga feels like a significant milestone in my journey.

Challenges Faced as an Outsider

As an outsider, has your journey been challenging? Every actor faces unique hurdles, and for me, the most valuable lesson has been patience. There are times when progress seems slow, but I’ve always prioritized focusing on my craft over external distractions. My experiences, both the setbacks and triumphs, have deepened my appreciation for every opportunity, as I understand the effort it takes to reach this point.

Excitement Over Imtiaz Ali's Offer

What was your reaction when Imtiaz Ali approached you for Main Vaapas Aaunga? I was thrilled! I've admired his work for years, particularly his character development, especially for women. Hearing the story's narration instantly resonated with me. Collaborating with Imtiaz sir was a long-held aspiration, and when it materialized, it felt surreal.

Working with a Stellar Cast

Was it challenging to adapt your skills to such a talented ensemble? I viewed it more as an opportunity than a challenge. Working alongside those I admire naturally motivates you to deliver your best. There was so much to learn just by observing my co-stars. The atmosphere was warm and collaborative, making it feel more inspiring than intimidating.

Shooting in Punjab's Outdoors

Was filming in Punjab difficult? Definitely. While Punjab's beauty is breathtaking, outdoor shoots come with their own challenges. We often faced extreme weather, from scorching sun to hard-to-reach locations. Yet, these challenges became part of the experience. The landscape felt like a character in the film, deeply intertwined with the story's roots in Punjab's culture and emotions. Surrounded by mustard fields and the warmth of the locals, any fatigue faded away. In hindsight, I wouldn't change a thing.

Memorable Moments from the Shoot

Can you share some memorable experiences from filming? There are countless memories from this project; it felt more like a journey than just a shoot. One of my favorite moments was the conversations we shared between takes. Imtiaz sir has a remarkable way of prompting you to think differently about life and emotions. Some of the most impactful moments occurred when the cameras were off. The cast and crew became like family, and even during intense scenes, a joke could lighten the mood. Those contrasts are what linger in my mind. Filming the songs was also magical, filled with a sense of innocence and joy that I will always cherish.

Working with Vedang

Was working with Vedang like a picnic? Not exactly a picnic, unless your idea of one includes long hours, endless rehearsals, and striving for the perfect shot! However, it was incredibly enjoyable. Vedang is a fantastic co-actor—sincere, easy to collaborate with, and fully engaged in every scene. What I appreciated most was our mutual commitment to the story, which made the entire process feel seamless.

Significance of Main Vaapas Aaunga

Would you consider this your most important film? Every film has been significant for me, as each has imparted unique lessons and contributed to my growth as an actor. That said, Main Vaapas Aaunga holds a particularly special place in my heart. Collaborating with Imtiaz Ali was a dream come true. His films have profoundly influenced my perspective on cinema and storytelling, and being entrusted with a character like Jiya was incredibly meaningful.
