Umang Singhar has raised questions on the state government and investigating agencies for making the same person a witness against a large number of accused in the cases to Vyapam scam in Madhya Pradesh. He said that in the Vyapam case, which is one of the most talked about recruitment scams of the state, information has come to light that STF has made only one person a witness against 847 accused, which raises serious questions on the credibility of the investigation process.

The Congress leader said that according to the available records of the court and the information revealed, Bhopal resident Sunil Kushwaha has been presented as a memorandum witness against a total of 847 accused in about 10 cases to Vyapam. He alleged that if in the investigation of such a big and multi-layered scam, reliance has been shown on the same person again and again, then it is natural to raise doubts about the impartial investigation.

Umang Singhar surrounded the government

Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar has attacked the BJP government and STF over the investigation of Vyapam scam. He alleged that the truth of the entire scam has been placed on the shoulders of the only “standing witness” Sunil Kushwaha, thereby trying to weaken the investigation. He said that it is also a worrying fact that the witnesses concerned have changed their statements before the court in some cases. According to reports, she told the court that on several occasions she was called only to sign the documents and the memorandum was not prepared in front of her. Such statements raise questions on the investigation process and the credibility of the evidence.

Questions asked to the Chief Minister

Umang Singhar said that the Vyapam scam was not just a case of financial irregularities but it affected the future of lakhs of youth, the fairness of recruitment processes and the reputation of the state. In such a case, if questions are being raised regarding the role of witnesses and the investigation process, then the government should answer. He has asked Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, “Will the truth come out or are efforts being made to bury the truth like the Vyapam files?” Let us tell you that Vyapam scam is one of the biggest recruitment scams of Madhya Pradesh which involves exam paper leak, fake candidates and collusion of officials and Congress has been questioning the government on this issue from time to time.
