In a commendable display of efficiency, the Nurpur District Police managed to recover a stolen Mahindra pickup truck within 48 hours of the theft being reported. The vehicle was located and seized in the vicinity of Shahpur Kandi, Pathankot.
Incident Overview: On June 13, 2026, Naresh Kumar, a resident of Dhadoon village in Tehsil Jawali, filed a complaint stating that his Mahindra pickup (registration number HP36A9386) had been stolen. He had parked the vehicle outside his residence on the night of June 12, only to discover it missing the following morning.
Following the report, an FIR No. 112/26 was lodged at the Jawali Police Station under Section 305(b) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation was assigned to the Kotla Police Post team.
Understanding the urgency of the situation, the police initiated a comprehensive search operation. Today, the Kotla Police team successfully retrieved the stolen vehicle near the Pepsi Factory Ground in Shahpur Kandi, Pathankot.
Ongoing Investigation: The recovered pickup has been taken in for necessary legal procedures. The Nurpur Police are conducting an extensive investigation to identify and apprehend the suspects responsible for the theft.
