First Half
Germany started the game on the front foot, pressing high and dominating possession against Curacao.
However, Curacao’s disciplined defence made it difficult for Florian Wirtz and his teammates to create clear chances.
Germany took an early lead in the 5th minute through Felix Nmecha, who struck a precise finish from inside the penalty area.
In the 11th minute, Leroy Sane had a golden opportunity inside the box after receiving a pass from Jamal Musiala, but his shot went narrowly wide.
Florian Wirtz also came close in the 14th minute with a long-range attempt following a pass from Nathaniel Brown, but his effort missed the target.
Curacao launched a counterattack in the 19th minute, but Germany’s backline remained firm, leaving their opponents with little room to shoot.
Against the run of play, Germany conceded in the 21st minute when Curacao’s Livano Comenencia scored from a goalmouth scramble past Manuel Neuer.
Curacao goalkeeper Eloy Room produced a fine save in the 28th minute, tipping away a powerful header from Nico Schlotterbeck.
In the 29th minute, Aleksandar Pavlovic almost restored Germany’s lead, but his effort was blocked inside the box. Leroy Sane then unleashed a fierce shot in the 32nd minute after combining with Florian Wirtz, only for his attempt to be deflected.
Germany finally regained the advantage in the 38th minute when Nico Schlotterbeck rose highest to head home a corner, giving his team a 2-1 lead.

One of the local jersey business owners in Solo, Nofi Setiawan of NS Jersey, shared his predictions for the winner and runner-up of Group A.
Before revealing his predictions, Nofi recounted how he started his jersey business, which began during his high school years.
“The background of this business came from my marketing studies at school. We had practical exams, and I decided to test the waters by starting this business. It was a hobby, and after graduating from university, I continued selling gradually until now,” said Nofi Setiawan on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
He explained that his business expanded significantly after the COVID-19 pandemic hit Indonesia.
“If we trace it back, it started around 2020 as just a hobby. I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t serious. After the COVID pandemic, I began to take it more seriously, and the business grew steadily,” he added.
Nofi mentioned that the surge in jersey sales usually happens after the group stage of the 2026 World Cup concludes.
“It usually picks up after the group stage,” he said.
According to Nofi, the best-selling jerseys are from European teams, especially Germany and France, followed by Brazil and Argentina from South America.
“The most popular are Germany and France. Portugal comes next, mainly because of Ronaldo’s influence. Argentina and Brazil are also in high demand. England and the Netherlands are not as hyped,” he explained.
Interestingly, Dutch jerseys are mostly shipped to Eastern Indonesia.
“The Netherlands jerseys often go to Eastern Indonesia because many people there have Dutch heritage,” Nofi revealed.
He added that his customers usually buy jerseys based on three factors: design, favourite player, and budget.
“From my experience, there are three reasons: the design, their favourite player or team—like Ronaldo, Mbappe, or Messi—and their budget,” he explained.
Nofi also finds it rewarding when older jersey designs sell out after a team performs well in the World Cup.
“It’s most satisfying when I still have old stock and the team reaches the later stages. For example, during Argentina’s 2022 run to the semifinals, demand skyrocketed, and prices went up,” he shared.
He has shipped jerseys as far as Papua and Maluku, usually in bulk.
“I have customers as far as Papua and Maluku. They’re not resellers—they buy for personal use. The biggest single shipment I’ve done was 12 pieces. They usually gather friends to split the shipping costs,” Nofi said.
