India has marked a significant milestone in its defense capabilities. On Monday, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted a flight test of the Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM). This test took place from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island, located off the coast of Odisha. It represents a crucial step towards enhancing the country's indigenous long-range precision strike systems. According to officials, the flight test of the LRLACM was successful, with data from various tracking and monitoring systems confirming that all mission objectives were achieved.

The Ministry of Defence stated that the missile accomplished all mission goals, validating key technologies and showcasing India's growing capability for long-range precision strikes. The DRDO developed all subsystems with significant participation from Indian industries. This successful test is another major step towards 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (Self-Reliant India) and a robust national defense ecosystem. Various tracking devices deployed by the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur closely monitored the missile's performance. Data collected during the test confirmed the missile's operational parameters and mission profile.
