FAKFAK – As Argentina’s National Football Team prepares to face Algeria on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, in the FIFA World Cup 2026, the price of Argentina’s player-issue jerseys has surged in Fakfak, West Papua.
Based on observations on Sunday (14 June 2026), several shops selling Argentina National Team jerseys along Dr Salasa Namudat Business and Economic Street have raised their prices.
“Yes, the prices have gone up. The player-issue Argentina jerseys that were previously sold for Rp400,000 are now priced between Rp500,000 and Rp600,000,” said a local vendor named Galang on Sunday (14 June 2026).
The price hike is reportedly due to rising demand, while previous stocks have already sold out.
“We have to bring Argentina National Team jerseys in by air from outside the region, which is why the prices have increased,” he explained.
Imported Argentina National Team jerseys, which sell for millions of rupiah at Galang’s store, have also been completely bought out by local fans in Fakfak.
“Later tonight, we expect additional stock of Argentina, Netherlands, Germany, Brazil, and other national team jerseys. We will reconfirm availability soon,” he added.
Galang admitted that his earnings have been quite substantial, although he has not yet calculated the total amount.
Consumer demand continues to grow as Argentina’s opening match in the 2026 FIFA World Cup draws near.
