Boosting Local Jersey Businesses in Solo

One of the local jersey entrepreneurs in Solo, Nofi Setiawan, the owner of NS Jersey, shared his insights about the World Cup and his business journey.

Nofi explained that his jersey business began during his high school years as part of his marketing studies project and later grew into a full-time venture after college.

“I started this business as part of a school project in marketing. It was also my hobby, and after graduation, I continued selling little by little until it became what it is today,” said Nofi Setiawan on Wednesday, 10 June 2026.

He decided to focus more seriously on the business after the Covid-19 pandemic.

“It started as a hobby around 2020, but after the pandemic hit, I became more serious and expanded the business,” he added.

Regarding the 2026 World Cup, Nofi mentioned that jersey sales usually increase after the group stage ends.

According to him, European jerseys, particularly from Germany and France, are the best-sellers, followed by Brazil and Argentina from South America.

“The most in-demand jerseys are Germany and France. Portugal is also popular due to Ronaldo, while Argentina and Brazil are always strong sellers. England and the Netherlands are less hyped,” he explained.

Nofi also noted that Dutch jerseys sell well in eastern Indonesia, as many customers there have Dutch heritage.

He further stated that buyers usually choose jerseys based on three factors: design, the player they support (such as Ronaldo, Mbappe, or Messi), and budget.

He added that older designs can gain renewed demand when a team performs well in the tournament, as seen with Argentina’s 2022 World Cup run.

“It’s exciting when I still have stock from a team that goes far in the tournament; like Argentina in 2022, the demand and price both go up,” he said.

Nofi has shipped jerseys as far as Papua and Maluku, often sending bulk orders of up to 12 pieces to help reduce shipping costs for customers there.

“I have customers in Papua and Maluku. They usually buy in groups to save on delivery costs,” he concluded.
