It is being told that on June 9, the mob caught a young man thinking he was a thief and then started beating him, due to which he died. The deceased youth has been identified as 30-year-old Sandeep Nair, who was a resident of Kerala. He did not know how to speak Bengali or Hindi and he lost his way and reached Sankijahan village.
According to the information, Sandeep had come to Kultali area of West Bengal about two weeks ago with his colleague Hiralal Das. Local people became suspicious of his actions and stopped him and asked him to reveal his identity.
