Manchester United great Roy Keane played the proud father’s role perfectly as his daughter, Leah, tied the knot with Southampton centre-back Taylor Harwood-Bellis in a picturesque countryside ceremony at Kin House in Wiltshire.

A glittering wedding in Wiltshire

The football fraternity turned out in full support as 24-year-old Leah Keane, daughter of the former United captain, officially united with Southampton defender Harwood-Bellis. The ceremony, held on Saturday evening at the exclusive Kin House, offered a serene and elegant setting for the high-profile occasion.

Leah shared glimpses of the celebration online, posting a series of photographs and videos that beautifully captured the spirit of the day. Reflecting on the emotional transition, she captioned one post, “Last night as a Keane,” signalling the start of her new chapter with the England youth international.

The road to marriage

The wedding marked the culmination of a long and affectionate relationship between the couple. Harwood-Bellis had proposed during a romantic holiday off the coast of Italy in 2024, setting the stage for their union. Over the years, their bond has deepened, and they are already proud parents to a baby girl named Iris, born in early December.

While many might find the thought of having Roy Keane as a father-in-law daunting, Harwood-Bellis has previously spoken warmly about the Irish legend’s influence on his career. He once said, “He’s one of the people, apart from my immediate family, who I know genuinely has my best interests at heart. The advice he gives me always comes from a good place, and he’s helped me make some key career decisions.”

Praise from the hardman

Famed for his tough standards and blunt punditry, Keane has shown rare warmth when speaking about his new son-in-law. The former United skipper offered glowing praise after Harwood-Bellis scored on his debut for England against the Republic of Ireland at Wembley in 2024. Keane remarked, “It’s great for him to make his debut and he’s got a bit of a goal threat. He’s a lovely lad, and his family have done a brilliant job. He’s a really nice kid.”

Such public approval from one of football’s most demanding figures indicates that Harwood-Bellis has truly earned Keane’s respect—and his place in the family.

Back to football business

After a weekend filled with personal joy, Harwood-Bellis will soon shift his focus back to his professional duties. The Southampton defender is gearing up for another Championship season following a turbulent end to the last campaign, which saw the Saints miss out on promotion.

The club became embroiled in the ‘Spygate’ controversy after being caught observing a Middlesbrough training session, a scandal that ultimately led to their expulsion from the play-offs.
