There has been a new twist in the case of alleged viral extortion video of Gwalior Central Jail and WhatsApp message sent to blackmail the superintendent. On Monday, Superintendent Vidit Sarvaiya had accused suspended jail guard Pawan Sharma and former prisoner Rishipal Singh Baghel for the incident, but today Rishipal Singh Baghel himself reached the SP office and denied the allegations and accused the jail superintendent of blackmailing him.
The state government has transferred Gwalior Central Jail Superintendent (in-charge) Vidit Sarvaiya and sent him to Shivpuri Jail, although the names of many other superintendents are also there in the transfer list of the jail department, but the discussion about the transfer of Vidit Sarvaiya is that he has been removed on the basis of complaints of corruption in the Central Jail, this claim has been made by none other than the same former prisoner Rishipal Singh Baghel on whom Superintendent Vidit Sarvaiya Sarvaiya has made allegations of blackmailing.
In fact, on Monday, Central Jail Superintendent Vidit Sarvaiya complained to the police that someone was blackmailing him. He allegedly made videos of extortion inside the jail and made them viral and then tried to blackmail him by sending WhatsApp messages. He alleged that this work was done by a suspended guard Pawan Sharma and former prisoner Rishipal Singh Baghel. The police took the complaint and said that an investigation would be done.
When the matter came to the media today on Tuesday, former prisoner Rishipal Singh Baghel reached the SP office, he gave an application to SP Dharamveer Singh and denied the allegations leveled against him by Jail Superintendent Vidit Sarvaiya. Not only this, he accused him of blackmailing him, Baghel said that this whole matter is to divert the ongoing investigation and to put pressure on him after the complaint made by him to the Jail Ministry to the Jail Superintendent.
Rishipal said that when I was released from jail after being acquitted by the court, I raised my voice against the corruption in the jail, assault on prisoners and illegal extortion. He claimed that there is corruption on a large scale in the jail in the name of beedi, cigarettes, intoxicants and meetings. The former prisoner claimed that Rs 10,000 to lakhs of rupees are charged in the jail. The more money, the more facilities are available.
He claimed that after being released from jail, he complained about these actions to the top officials of the jail department, on which an investigation was ordered, but Jail Superintendent Sarvaiya suppressed that investigation, I opposed it and then complained, then Collector Gwalior was ordered to investigate this matter, I also sent a separate complaint to the Chief Minister and presented evidence, met the officials of the Bhopal Gaya department.
Baghel said that after all this happened, Jail Superintendent Sarvaiya came to know that a notesheet had been made on my complaint and his transfer was certain, so to stop him, he did this and took my name, he said that he has nothing to do with the number from which WhatsApp messages were sent to the Jail Superintendent, it is not his number at all, Baghel said that the allegations against me are baseless, on the contrary, they are the ones who are pressurizing me and to withdraw the complaint, they are black. Describing Jail Superintendent Vidit Sarvaiya as a corrupt officer, Baghel thanked the government and said that he was transferred on my complaint but he opposed being sent to Shivpuri. He said, I request the Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav that Vidit Sarvaiya should not be given any jail till the investigation is going on against him.
