Oil Companies New Guidelines: For the last few months, there has been continuous fluctuation in the prices of LPG cylinders across the country and the government is also issuing new guidelines from time to time. In view of the increasing tension in West Asia since last months, the Central Government and oil companies are taking many important decisions. Meanwhile, many cases of LPG fraud have also come to light in different parts of the country. Keeping these circumstances in mind, recently oil companies have issued new guidelines for LPG consumers and sellers. In such a situation, it has become very important for all the customers to be aware of these rules and important information.
Recently, oil marketing companies (OMCs) and gas agencies have issued an important information for the customers. It has been told that LPG cylinders are the property of the companies. These cylinders are given to the customers only on the basis of security deposit and they should be used only by the person in whose name the gas connection is registered.
In the guidelines issued, it is clearly stated that it is illegal to sell, give or transfer the LPG cylinder to any other person. That is, the consumer in whose name the connection is made should use the cylinder only. Action may be taken if rules are violated.
According to the new guidelines, selling or listing of LPG cylinders is not allowed on any unauthorized website, online platform or market. Doing so will be considered a violation of the law. Companies say that the quality and safety of the cylinders available on such platforms are not guaranteed, which may increase the risk of accidents.
