Claims are circulating regarding the sale of question papers on the Telegram messaging app during the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) June-July examinations. This news has raised concerns among students appearing for the IGNOU June-July 2026 exams.
Specifically, it is being alleged that certain individuals are selling question papers for various subjects on Telegram for ₹199. However, IGNOU has stated that they have found no concrete evidence of a question paper leak, and no IGNOU examination has been cancelled.
**Why it is in the news**
According to various media reports, IGNOU received an email from students alleging that question papers were being sold on Telegram for ₹199. Following this, IGNOU's Evaluation Division instructed all regional and exam centers to remain vigilant. Notably, the complaints lodged by students included screenshots of the messages. These messages claimed that the question paper and its answers would be made available two hours before the exam began. Additionally, the sender instructed recipients not to share the question paper further, warning that doing so could lead to the cancellation of the exam.
**What IGNOU said**
The university administration stated that they immediately informed the police upon learning of the matter. Furthermore, they directed all regional and exam centers to stay alert. IGNOU clarified that, so far, no cases of paper leaks have been reported from any center, nor has any concrete evidence been found; therefore, the examinations have not been cancelled.
**Term-end exams begin on this date**
IGNOU's June-July term-end examinations commenced on June 1 and will continue until July 21. The exams are being conducted at approximately 900 centers across the country in two shifts. Additionally, more than 9 lakh candidates are taking exams for 2,000 courses.
