The second match of the three-match ODI series between India and Afghanistan was played today at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. In this important match, the Indian team defeated Afghanistan by a huge margin of 170 runs and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. By winning this match, India captured the series and showed its strong hold.

In fact, after losing the toss in the match, the Indian team came to bat first and scored a big score thanks to the brilliant centuries of captain Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan. Team India scored 402 runs losing all 10 wickets in 49.5 overs. This was the biggest score of this series so far.

Afghanistan team was reduced to 232 runs

Chasing the target of 403 runs, the Afghanistan team could not last long in front of the Indian bowlers. The entire team was all out after scoring 232 runs in 44.3 overs. However, the team lost only 9 wickets because batsman Darwish Rasooli could not come on the field to bat again due to injury. With this defeat, Afghanistan also lost the series.

Shubman Gill scored 154 runs in 110 balls

Captain Shubman Gill played the biggest innings in Indian batting. Gill scored 154 runs in 110 balls, which included 22 fours and 2 brilliant sixes. Ishan Kishan also batted brilliantly and scored 125 runs in 79 balls. His innings included 14 fours and 7 sixes. The big innings of these two batsmen played an important role in taking India beyond 400 runs and put pressure on Afghanistan.

Rohit Sharma scored 48 runs

Apart from Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan, other batsmen of the Indian team also made useful contributions. Rohit Sharma scored 48 runs, while Shreyas Iyer added 26 runs. Washington Sundar contributed 19 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal was out early after scoring 04 runs. In the lower order, Gurnoor Brar scored 03 runs, Arshdeep Singh scored 03 runs, Prince Yadav scored 05 runs and Kuldeep Yadav scored 03 runs unbeaten. Whereas KL Rahul was out on a golden duck without opening the account.

Batting was difficult for Afghanistan

Chasing the target proved to be very difficult for Afghanistan. The team’s batsmen were seen struggling in front of the Indian bowlers. Rahmat Shah played the biggest innings for Afghanistan. He scored 79 runs in 89 balls with the help of 8 fours. Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 41 runs, while Sediqullah Atal tried to stay in the contest for some time by playing an inning of 42 runs.

Among other Afghan batsmen, Ibrahim Zadran scored 21 runs, captain Hashmatullah Shahidi scored 04 runs, Nangelia Kharoti scored 06 runs, Rashid Khan scored 12 runs, Ghazanfar scored 01 runs, Mohammad Salim scored 09 runs and Bilal Sami scored 02 runs unbeaten. Darwish Rasooli had scored 06 runs, but due to injury he had to leave the field and could not come to bat again.

Indian bowlers gave a brilliant team performance in this match. Arshdeep Singh and Gurnoor Brar bowled brilliantly and took 3-3 wickets. Young bowler Prince Yadav, who made his debut in this match, also impressed and took 2 important wickets. Washington Sundar also got 1 wicket. The consistent bowling of the Indian bowlers prevented Afghanistan from reaching a big score and gave a big victory to Team India.
