UPSC CAPF AC Exam 2026: Here is an important update for aspirants dreaming of becoming officers in the Central Armed Police Forces. UPSC has announced the exam date for the CAPF (Assistant Commandant) recruitment. The examination will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, in two shifts.

Candidates who applied between February 20 and March 12, 2026, can now intensify their preparations for the written examination. This exam is conducted to recruit Assistant Commandants for five major paramilitary forces in the country (BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, and SSB).

Exam to be held in two shifts

The written examination will be conducted in two sessions. The first paper will be objective in nature, while the second paper will be descriptive. The duration for Paper-I will be 2 hours, and for Paper-II, it will be 3 hours.

What next? When will the admit card be released?
Following the announcement of the exam date, candidates are now awaiting the release of the admit card. UPSC typically issues admit cards a few weeks prior to the examination.
