Former Manchester United defender Jack Kingdon has secured a new club as he continues his football journey.

Kingdon rose through the ranks of the Manchester United academy, where he captained the under-18 team during a successful, trophy-winning campaign and also featured for the under-21 side.

The central defender later joined Rochdale on loan, making 16 appearances for the Dale before leaving Manchester United permanently last summer.

Following his departure, he signed with Cardiff City’s under-21 squad, where he took on the captain’s role for the Bluebirds.

During his time with Cardiff City, Kingdon made three appearances, all in the EFL Trophy competition.

The young defender has also represented Scotland at the youth level, earning a cap for the under-20 national team.

According to an official announcement on Yeovil Town’s website, “Yeovil Town Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Jack Kingdon from Cardiff City on a one-year deal with an option for an additional year.”

The statement further noted, “Kingdon joins the Glovers after attracting interest from several clubs across the Football League and the National League, with Yeovil emerging victorious in securing his signature.”

Yeovil described the Carrington academy graduate as a “modern centre-back” who is “comfortable” when in possession of the ball.

Speaking about his move, Kingdon shared his excitement about beginning this new phase of his career.

The 20-year-old expressed that he was filled with “excitement” and was “raring to go and just get playing and meet the fans” as a Yeovil player.

Explaining why he felt Yeovil Town was the right club for him, Kingdon said, “I know they’re a big club, they used to be in the league, high up and just trying to get back up where we should be really.”

Kingdon’s arrival marks another promising addition to Yeovil Town’s squad as the club looks to strengthen its defensive options ahead of the new season.
