Raipur. Public Works Department (PWD) Secretary Mukesh Kumar Bansal held a review meeting with departmental officials at Surguja division headquarters Ambikapur and took detailed information about the progress of various construction works. During this, he also inspected the construction sites and instructed the officials and construction agencies to complete all the work within the stipulated time frame and as per the quality standards. In the meeting, Surguja Collector Ajit Vasant, Chief Engineer of Public Works Department V.K. Senior officers of the department including Bhatpahari were present.
During the review meeting, Secretary Mukesh Bansal gave instructions to give priority to road maintenance and pothole repair works keeping in mind the upcoming rainy season. He said that all necessary repair works should be completed before the onset of rains to provide safe and easy transportation facilities to the common people. He also directed the officials to ensure timely repair of bridges and culverts, so that people do not face any problem in transportation during monsoon.
PWD Secretary asked the officials to regularly monitor the roads and bridges and keep a constant eye on their current condition. He said that immediate corrective action should be taken as soon as information about any damage or problem is received, so that the traffic system is not affected.
Mukesh Bansal stressed on ensuring strict adherence to quality standards in all construction projects. He instructed the officers to regularly visit the field for inspection and strictly monitor the works. He clearly said that any kind of negligence or deficiency in the quality of construction works will not be accepted. In the meeting, field officers presented detailed information about the currently ongoing works, proposed projects and upcoming plans.
Secretary Mukesh Bansal also inspected the National Highway Bypass Project under construction in Ambikapur. During this, he took stock of the progress of underpasses, bridges and other structural construction works. Instructing the construction agencies to speed up the works, he said that road and bridge construction works should be completed within the stipulated time limit in any case. With this, citizens will soon get better and easier transportation facilities.
The Secretary of the Public Works Department visited the Ambikapur Medical College campus and reviewed the ongoing construction works there. He directed the officials and construction agency to expeditiously complete the construction work of the Medical College building on priority basis. He said that construction work related to health infrastructure is very important and there should not be any delay in it. With the timely completion of the project, the people of the area will benefit from better health facilities.
