SSC Stenographer 2025 Final Result: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the final result for the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and Grade ‘D’ Examination 2025. The Commission has uploaded the First Phase Tentative Allocation List (FRTA) on its website. This allocation is based on the candidates' merit and the order of departmental preferences submitted by them online.

According to the Commission, only those candidates who submitted their online options and departmental preferences between May 5 and May 8, 2026, were included in the final allocation process.

How many candidates were recommended?
Under Grade ‘C’: Out of a total of 232 vacancies, 228 candidates have been recommended. Four vacancies in the ST category remained unfilled due to a lack of eligible candidates.
Under Grade ‘D’: Against a total of 1,483 vacancies, all 1,483 candidates have been successfully recommended. Many meritorious candidates from reserved categories (EWS, SC, ST, OBC) qualified under the Unreserved (UR) standard.

How many candidates appeared for the SSC Stenographer recruitment skill test?
A total of 8,624 candidates qualified for the Stenographer Grade ‘C’ skill test, of which 4,907 appeared for the exam.
For the Stenographer Grade ‘D’ skill test, 22,456 candidates were declared eligible, out of whom 12,564 appeared.

For the final allocation process, only the applications of those 10,132 candidates who submitted their "Option-cum-Preference" online between May 5 and May 8, 2026, were considered.

Sliding Mechanism Process Begins
The Commission has implemented a 'sliding mechanism' this time to fill vacant seats and offer better opportunities to eligible candidates. Under this process, candidates can avail themselves of the opportunity to transfer to an available department of higher preference based on their choice.

All shortlisted candidates must log in to the official SSC website between June 19, 2026, and June 22, 2026, to select the venue, date, and time (slot) for the sliding process.

Candidates are required to appear in person at the Commission's respective Regional Offices on July 1 and July 2, 2026.

Process | Date
Slot Selection | June 19 to June 22, 2026
Physical Appearance | July 1 and July 2, 2026

If a candidate fails to appear at the Regional Office on the scheduled date, they will be marked absent and completely excluded from the final selection list.

What rules are used for tie-breaking?
If two or more candidates have equal total marks, the tie-breaking rules are applied as follows:

Higher marks in Part-III (English Language & Comprehension)
Higher marks in Part-II (General Awareness)
Preference given to the older candidate
Decision based on alphabetical order of names
