Tezzbuzz Desk- If you want to try something new, crispy and spicy snack then ‘Tuk’ made from raw banana is a great option. This dish is crisp like chips from outside and slightly soft from inside, whose taste is liked by everyone from children to adults.

Generally people eat potato pieces, but raw banana pieces are also equally tasty and fun. Its taste increases even more with green chutney.

Why are raw banana pieces special?

Raw banana has less starch and is light as well as excellent in taste. If it is deep fried and prepared with spices, it becomes a perfect evening snack.

necessary materials

  • 1/2 kg raw banana
  • oil for frying
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp dry mango powder
  • salt as per taste

Method of preparation

  1. First of all, wash the raw bananas thoroughly and blanch them in boiling water, taking care that they do not melt completely.
  2. After this, remove the bananas from water, peel them and cut them into pieces of about 2 inches.
  3. Now fry these pieces in medium hot oil until they become light golden and then take them out.
  4. After this, flatten these pieces by pressing them lightly with the bottom of a bowl or glass.
  5. Now fry them again so that they become completely crispy from outside and remain slightly soft from inside.
  6. Prepare the masala by mixing red chilli powder, chaat masala, black pepper powder, dry mango powder and salt in a bowl.
  7. Add fried banana pieces to this masala and mix well.

Serving Tip

Serve hot raw banana crispy pieces with green chutney or tomato sauce. This is a perfect and tasty option for evening snack.

This recipe is believed to be originally associated with Sindhi cooking. Traditionally aloo tuk are made, but this version made with raw banana is equally tasty and crunchy. For a healthy option, it can also be made in air fryer.
