His attorney, Tom Hoberman, confirmed the news to a major media outlet on June 19. According to Burrows' family, he died peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones.


Burrows was celebrated as one of the most influential directors in the television industry. Throughout his extensive career, he received numerous Emmy Awards and is best known for his direction of iconic sitcoms such as Friends and for co-creating the beloved series Cheers.
