Brazil have put their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign back on track with a convincing 3-0 win over Haiti on Friday (June 19). The Selecao won the match 3-0, thus claiming the top spot in the Group C points table as well.
Matheus Cunha opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, reacting quickest after Vinicius Junior's effort was parried and a defensive ricochet fell kindly for the striker. Cunha then doubled Brazil's advantage in the 36th minute with a superb left-footed finish into the roof of the net after being set up by Vinicius.
Brazil struck again deep into first-half stoppage time when Lucas Paquetá's perfectly weighted pass released Vinicius Junior, who calmly slotted past goalkeeper Johny Placide to make it 3-0. The second half saw Brazil comfortably control proceedings and preserve the clean sheet.
Have Brazil Qualified for Round of 32?
Brazil are currently top in Group C points table with 4 points out of two matches. They are same on points with Morocco but claim the top spot by virtue of goal difference. Although they are not yet through to the knockouts, but are extremely close to it.
Brazil Knockouts Qualification Scenario
For Carlo Ancelotti's men, qualification to the knockouts is just a point away. If the Selecao avoid a defeat against Scotland in their final group stage encounter, they will be through to the Round of 32. The top spot will be ensured if Brazil can score no fewer than two goals than Morocco in their respective final matches. Even if Brazil lose to Scotland, they can have a big possibility of progressing as one of the third-placed teams.
