During his visit to Slovakia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has presented ‘Thekua’, a traditional dish of Bihar, to the Speaker of the Parliament there. Due to this, there is an atmosphere of happiness in Bihar and people called it a commendable step by PM Modi. Not only is this being considered a step to bring the cultural identity of Bihar to the international stage, but it is also expected to give new strength to the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign.

Shopkeepers say that this step of the Prime Minister will increase the recognition of traditional products of Bihar in the country and abroad. This may increase the demand for local sweets and food products, which will directly benefit small shopkeepers, women self-help groups and cottage industries.

Thekua seller Anil Kumar Thakur while talking to news agency IANS said, “This is a big achievement. Our Thekua of Bihar has been served there, it is a very good thing. Thekua will get a lot of importance. Just as people from abroad will recognize it, in the same way we will also be recognized.”

Anil said that this Thekua has special significance on the Chhath festival, people accept it as Prasad. However, thekua is sold even on normal days. This is a very good and commendable initiative. The sweets of our country and state will be recognized in foreign countries also.

Thekua buyer Shankar Shah said, “It will be beneficial, our business will run, there will be export from here in the country and abroad as well. We will send thekua. Just like Britannia sells biscuits, we will sell thekua. It is a good thing. I came to know from Patna station that sweets are available at this shop to give at weddings.”

Customers believe that the gifting of Thekua abroad by the Prime Minister is a big achievement for the culture and local products of Bihar, which can increase both the demand and popularity of the traditional products of the state in the coming times.

Customer IIT Professor Dr. Praveen Kumar said, “If we look at the slogan from village to global, the slogan of developed India, the Amrit Kaal which is going on in our country, then the concept was already there that the people who were adept in marketing, they used to produce their goods accordingly and sell their products, no matter how many goods they were at the national level, but local, whatever our goods were, which has been a tradition for years, thousands of years. existed, it was becoming extinct.

He said that PM Modi has started Local for Vocal to conserve the products. There is still quality in local products, if we do not promote it then how will the product be recognised. When PM Modi gives the nod, the importance of the product reaches the global level.

After this, Thekua will start searching on Google, where did it come from and which place is it from. In such a situation, the importance of Bihar will increase at the global level. People will search for ways to make it. People will start ordering from e-commerce platforms.
