Bayern Munich will be delighted with what they have witnessed from Ismael Saibari at the 2026 FIFA World Cup — a sentiment shared by Morocco supporters and even neutral fans around the world.
The Bundesliga champions had already expressed interest in signing the PSV Eindhoven star before the summer tournament began, and his performances on football’s biggest stage have only strengthened that decision.
Saibari, who is comfortable playing both as a forward and an attacking midfielder, first made headlines when he scored the opening goal in Morocco’s 1-1 draw against Brazil.
On Friday, he added another to his World Cup tally. Taking full advantage of a lapse in Scotland’s defence, Saibari showed excellent awareness and timing to stay onside as his marker misjudged the play.
The 25-year-old then sprinted down the right flank and finished from a tight angle after just 71 seconds of play — the fastest goal of the tournament so far.
According to Opta, Saibari has become “only the second African player to score in his first two appearances at the FIFA World Cup, following Egypt’s Mohamed Salah.”
With his medical reportedly completed and Bayern Munich expected to confirm the move once the World Cup concludes, Saibari will surely aim to use the remainder of the competition to further impress his soon-to-be employers.
