Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that Eastern India remained backward during the Congress rule and now it is becoming the path of progress and development. Addressing a public meeting after inaugurating projects worth more than Rs 47,600 crore in Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, PM Modi said that the state is moving rapidly on the path of development and welfare schemes are changing the lives of the poor.
He said that the BJP government is converting Odisha's resources into possibilities, and so far investment proposals worth about Rs 20 lakh crore have been received. Congratulating President Murmu on his birthday, PM Modi said that he has strengthened the identity of Odisha.
PM Modi said that Our government is converting the resources of Odisha into possibilities of Odisha. Campaigns like Utkarsh Odisha are being run to bring huge investment to Odisha and establish new industries here. Under this, investment proposals worth about Rs 20 lakh crore have been received so far. Work is also going on on many mega projects worth more than Rs 3.5 lakh crore.
He said that to create a favorable environment for industries, attention is being given to the overall development of Odisha. Due to the power of double engine, today development is being ensured in all four directions.
There are two important milestones ahead of us in the coming times.
2036 will mark 100 years of the formation of Odisha, and 2047 will mark 100 years of India's independence.
That is, the aim of Odisha and the country is in the same direction.
If Odisha's economy becomes stronger, India will become stronger.

He said that I have confidence in the potential of Odisha. Together we have to take Odisha to the heights of development. International Yoga Day is also to be celebrated tomorrow on 21st June. Yoga has been a part of the traditions of Odisha. I appeal to the people of the entire country and the entire world from the land of Odisha. All of you should participate in Yoga Day in maximum numbers.
PM Modi said that Pandit Raghunath Murmu created Ol Chiki script for Santali language. Our government has presented the Constitution of India in Santali language. We have honored renowned sons and daughters of Odisha with Padma Awards.
