The Indian team has had to make changes in its squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star leg spinner Prema Rawat has been included in Team India as an injury replacement. Prema has got a place in the Indian team for the first time. 24-year-old Prema will replace spin all-rounder Shreyanka Patil.
Shreyanka was injured during the match against Netherlands on Wednesday (17). His ankle was twisted while fielding, after which he was taken off the field on a stretcher. After scans, the seriousness of his injury was revealed and his replacement was announced. Prema is in England with the India-A team, due to which she will soon join the World Cup squad.
Prema had performed well for India A in the Rising Star Women’s Asia Cup earlier this year. He played an important role in India A winning the title by taking 8 wickets at an economy of 4.27. Prema has got a chance to play 6 matches for RCB in the last two seasons in the Women’s Premier League, in which she has taken 3 wickets. She plays domestic cricket for Uttarakhand.
