Another petition has been filed in the Supreme Court on the matter of alleged irregularities in donations received by Ram Janmabhoomi Trust. Earlier, a person had filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court in the Ram Temple donation theft case. On Monday, the High Court rejected the petition, refusing to hear the matter immediately.
In the petition filed in the Supreme Court, a demand has been made to investigate the matter by a CBI-led SIT. In the petition, a demand has also been made to register an FIR and keep the records safe. Apart from this, there has also been a demand to stop tampering with evidence and create a strong system of audit and monitoring for trust funds and property.
Earlier, Mohit Ashok had filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court in the Ram Temple donation theft case and requested for an immediate hearing. The High Court refused to hear this. The High Court rejected the petition saying that a large number of cases were already pending in the court. The court orally said that the Uttar Pradesh government has taken cognizance of the matter; Therefore, there is no need for urgent hearing at this stage.
This is not the first petition related to theft of Ram temple offerings. Even before this, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court by lawyer Narendra Kumar Goswami. The petition demands a forensic audit to know the total donations received by the temple and how and where these funds were deposited. In the petition filed by lawyer Narendra Kumar Goswami, it has been said that all records related to donations should be kept safe, because they will act as important evidence during the investigation.
The petition states that donations or offerings made in the name of the deity are trust property; Therefore, transparency in the process of counting and managing these contributions is of utmost importance. In this, a demand has been made to keep safe the information about all the offerings found in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple as well as related CCTV footage, documents and digital evidence.
