Now that more than nine years have passed since the Yogi government's rule in Uttar Pradesh, it is necessary to examine what Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath means to the people? What are the reasons that distinguish him from the previous rulers and how did the basis of trust in him become so strong? The people of Uttar Pradesh have also seen the time when riots, Dalit oppression, insult to Sanatan and minority appeasement were the hallmarks of this state and people did not see any hope of justice on any platform.

People are now seeing the present and also the changing aura of Uttar Pradesh, which has increased their respect in the country and abroad. Yogi If this notion of trust is expressed in one line, then we can say that under his leadership, not only the change of power took place in 2017, security, good governance, cultural renaissance and development were woven into one thread and this is now established as the new identity of Uttar Pradesh.

Situation in Uttar Pradesh before 2017

Let us also take a look at Uttar Pradesh before 2017. The way vote politics was at its peak at that time and the way the then government included communal appeasement in its agenda, it was in a way taking the state towards political slavery. Oppression of Dalits, protection to criminals and mafia, neglect of development, the people were suffering the brunt of all these but the self-confidence to protest had been snatched away from them. National Crime Records Bureau data shows that Uttar Pradesh was at the forefront in the country in crimes against Scheduled Castes between 2014-2016. The Dalit Atrocities Act was so ineffective that it had no meaning left.

The Muzaffarnagar riots are such a stain on the state that can hardly ever be washed away. Who knows how many Hindus migrated and who knows how many people's lands were grabbed by the bullies, but the government remained a silent spectator. The lava of anger erupts sooner or later and in 2017 people expressed it through their votes. Out of 403 assembly seats in the state, BJP gets 312 seats. This was not just a majority for a political party, it was a rebellion of the people hurt by their insult.

Considered a challenge to public expectations

When the public supports a political party in this way, the expectations from the government become very high. As Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath not only understood this challenge but also assimilated it. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay used to say that as long as the governance system remains detached from its cultural soul, it cannot pave the real path for public welfare. The state will have to reach out to the people standing in the last queue.

Chief Minister Yogi included this concept in his resolution and took forward 'good governance' not just as an administrative term but as an epoch-making resolution. In this he also added the thoughts of Veer Savarkar who believed that establishing peace without power is impossible. Yogi converted power into determination and zero tolerance against mafia and criminals is an example of this. Law is the same for everyone, this message of Yogi echoed in the entire state.

Immediate action after taking oath

Immediately after taking the oath, the action against illegal slaughter houses pushed vote bank politics back, while the formation of Anti-Romeo Squad gave the daughters the confidence to fearlessly step out of the house. The campaign against mafia may perhaps be recorded in the history of the state. The breaking of the mafia's back meant the end of organized crime. This means that now no one will dare to extort money from businessmen in the state by threatening them.

Obviously all this did not happen in a day, but after nine years have passed, if we feel relieved then this feeling makes the Yogi essential for the state. The state became free from riots. A direct message to the administration that no matter which community the rioters belong to, action is mandatory. Mission Shakti Abhiyan, women's helpline, and women's recruitment in the police tried to change the environment where a daughter's exit was the biggest cause of concern for the family.

It goes without saying that boldness does not come from the law alone, it comes from the belief that the governance is in favor of the citizens and this safe environment has rolled out the red carpet for investors. Uttar Pradesh, which is counted among the 'sick' states, is today moving towards becoming the second largest economy of the country. Investors not only from the country but also from abroad are coming to Uttar Pradesh and are eager to come. Ganga Expressway, Purvanchal Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway and Delhi-Meerut Expressway not only reduced the distances, but also connected the areas with the mainstream which were neglected for decades. Construction of international airport in Jewar, establishment of Uttar Pradesh Defense Industrial Corridor, data center policy, these are included in the new map of Uttar Pradesh.

The atmosphere changed due to the consecration of Shri Ram Lalla.

The discussion will remain incomplete without talking about cultural renaissance. Kashi Vishwanath Dham Corridor, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2021, has emerged with the economic aura of religious tourism. Then on January 22, 2024, the consecration of Shri Ram Lalla's life in Ayodhya rewarded the centuries of faith of the Sanatan Dharma people. This confluence of development and cultural pride is the specialty of the Yogi government, which differentiates it from previous governments.

It is also necessary to answer the mysterious questions arising in the minds of people that, after all, are so many changes possible just because one person wishes? The answer is yes, it is possible. When the hard-working ruler of the state gets the support and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it does not take long for the results to arrive. Since the biggest strength of a Yogi is his decision making ability, he finds solutions to complex problems easily. Yogi government's management during the Covid pandemic is proof of this.

People chose peace instead of riots

The entire country accepted the administrative efficiency of that time. Still, there is still a long way to go. We have to move forward only with a balanced vision. The people of the state have chosen peace instead of riots. Chose law, not mafia. Has chosen pride instead of insult and that is why Yogi Adityanath got majority mandate in 2022 also. This mandate was based on the idea that there should be no room for anarchy in the state. Cultural self-respect and economic development can go together. Today, when people realize that Sanatan traditions are a matter of pride and not shame, then it is their spiritual acceptance towards the Yogi government and that is why the meaning of having a Yogi government in UP is different and special.
