France and Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe has hinted at the possibility of playing in Major League Soccer (MLS) one day, saying he has always been drawn to American culture and its spirit of endless ambition. The 27-year-old also humorously shared that Inter Miami co-owner David Beckham has already begun trying to convince him to make the move to the United States.
‘Where ambition knows no limits’
Addressing the media before France’s second World Cup group match against Iraq at the Philadelphia Stadium, Mbappe was asked about his long-term career plans and whether he would consider a stint in the U.S.
“Maybe, I don’t know... The United States has a different culture from ours. I’ve always admired this culture where ambition knows no bounds. Will I come here before the end of my career? Maybe, I don’t know,” Mbappe said with a grin, before adding, “David [Beckham] talks to me about it.”
Ambitious Herons
Beckham’s global profile has made Inter Miami an attractive destination for some of football’s biggest names. England star Marcus Rashford recently trained at the club’s facilities before joining the Three Lions for their World Cup campaign. Reports have also linked the Miami-based side with a move for Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, adding to an already impressive roster that includes Lionel Messi, Rodrigo De Paul, and Germán Berterame as Designated Players.
Mbappe’s quest for World Cup glory
Mbappe has already scored twice in the opening stages of France’s World Cup run, further solidifying his record as one of the tournament’s most prolific scorers. At just 27 years old, he stands as the joint third-highest goal scorer in World Cup history with 14 goals to his name.
