RB Leipzig have officially announced the appointment of Martín Demichelis as their new head coach ahead of the 2026–27 season.
The 45-year-old Argentine, who most recently managed La Liga outfit RCD Mallorca, has signed a contract with the Red Bulls that runs until 30 June 2028.
“With Martín Demichelis, we are bringing in a head coach who has accumulated experience as both a player and a coach across Europe, South America, and North America, working at the highest level,” said Marcel Schäfer, RB Leipzig’s managing director of sport.
He added, “This international perspective aligns perfectly with RB Leipzig’s global vision. Martín combines a clear footballing philosophy with high intensity and professional expertise. We are confident that he will provide our team with valuable momentum and play a vital role in shaping the club’s ongoing success.”
Demichelis began his coaching journey as an assistant at Málaga, followed by a spell as a youth coach with Bayern Munich. He later managed River Plate in Argentina, CF Monterrey in Mexico, and most recently RCD Mallorca in Spain.
His broad coaching background across multiple continents is expected to bring fresh tactical insights and leadership to RB Leipzig as they prepare for the upcoming Bundesliga campaign.
