Congress's loss of one seat in the Rajya Sabha elections of Jharkhand has become a major reason for conflict among the parties of the India Alliance. Actually, India Block had full 56 votes to win two seats in the state, but initially Chief Minister Hemant Soren wanted both the seats for JMM.
According to state Congress sources, they wanted to give one of the two seats to industrialist Parimal Nathwani, but Congress President Kharge exerted pressure and demanded one seat for his close associate Pranab Jha. Barely Soren was ready. CM Soren also met Congress leaders, but after that he also had a long meeting with Nathwani. The Congressmen were shocked there.
After this, despite Tejashwi Yadav's assurance in the voting, three out of four RJD MLAs and two from ML cross voted. Whereas, the vote of the fourth RJD MLA became invalid due to it being cast incorrectly. Earlier, JMM got 30 votes for its candidate instead of 28.
From here the message went that the Congress candidate is losing. In such a situation, Pranab Jha, who was expecting victory with the help of 28 votes, came down to 20 votes and NDA supported Nathwani won by getting 28 votes instead of 24. Congress is also angry with the fact that Soren congratulated Nathwani wholeheartedly after the elections, but did not say a word, let alone express grief over the defeat of the alliance candidate.
Congress is seeing this as an insult to the honor of its President Kharge. While she wants action against the MLAs from the central leadership of RJD and ML, she is also unhappy with the stance of Hemant Soren. In such a situation, after receiving the report, she will take some action after mutual discussion. But due to this one defeat, the tension between Congress, RJD Male and JMM has increased, which is not good for the health of the India Bloc.
