MP Weather: Wait for monsoon will end soon, rain and storm in 30 districts today, heat wave alert in 4 districts

Before the onset of monsoon, rains and storms are continuing in Madhya Pradesh due to the impact of active weather systems at different places. On Monday, there was two inches of rain in Dhar and five inches of rain in Bhopal. There was rain and strong winds in Indore, Ujjain, Raisen, Rajgarh, Sehore, Khandwa, Chhindwara, Jabalpur, Sagar, Satna and Barwani.

On Tuesday (23 June 2026), an alert has been issued for rain in 30 districts and heat wave in 4 districts. There is a possibility of rain with strong winds at the speed of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour in these districts. The highest maximum temperature recorded in Datia was 42.2 degrees. The temperature was recorded at 40.2 degrees in Gwalior, 36 degrees in Jabalpur, 35.2 degrees in Bhopal, 35 degrees in Ujjain and 34.7 degrees Celsius in Indore.

According to the daily report of the Meteorological Center Bhopal, in the next 48 hours, the conditions are favorable for the advance of the South-West Monsoon into the remaining parts of the Central Arabian Sea, some more parts of Maharashtra, remaining parts of Telangana and Odisha and some more parts of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar, in such a situation, there is a possibility that the monsoon may enter Madhya Pradesh before June 27-28. Usually, the south-west monsoon enters Madhya Pradesh around June 15, but due to the slow pace, this time the monsoon has not reached even after more than a week of the scheduled time.

What will the weather be like on Tuesday?

  • Heat wave warning has been issued in Jabalpur, Mandla, Damoh and Umaria.
  • Bhopal, Indore, Dhar, Jhabua, Barwani, Khargone, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Dewas, Sehore, Harda, Narmadapuram, Raisen, Vidisha, Sagar, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Balaghat, Dindauri, Anuppur, Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Sheopur, Betul, Pandhurna, Alirajpur, There is a possibility of rain with strong wind and thunder in Shahdol districts.
  • Heat can be troublesome in Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Ujjain, Shajapur, Guna, Shivpuri, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna, Rewa and Singrauli.

Where and how much rain has fallen so far?

  • Between June 1 and 22, Madhya Pradesh has recorded about 52 percent less rainfall than normal. 45 out of 55 districts of the state are in the category of below normal rainfall.
  • From June 1 till now, an average of 70.9 mm rainfall should have been recorded, whereas only 34.3 mm rainfall has occurred. About 4.6 inches of water has fallen in Bhopal.
  • Jabalpur, Rewa, Sagar and Shahdol divisions in the eastern part have received 71 percent less rainfall, while Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Narmadapuram and Gwalior-Chambal region have received 33 percent less rainfall.
