Gujarat: A three-day 'Shala Praveshotsav' (school enrollment drive) and 'Kanya Kelavani' (girl child education campaign) is set to begin in Gujarat on June 23. Under this campaign, approximately 28.58 lakh children will be enrolled in schools across the state. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will launch this state-wide program from B.N. High School in Vadnagar.

B.N. High School in Vadnagar—the very school where Prime Minister Narendra Modi studied—has been selected as the venue to launch this year's enrollment drive. Narendra Modi had initiated this campaign in 2003 while serving as the Chief Minister of Gujarat to enroll the maximum number of children in schools and increase participation in education.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will participate in enrollment programs for children across various levels, including an Anganwadi center in Vadnagar. According to the state government, this enrollment drive will run from June 23 to June 25 and cover approximately 38,400 schools across Gujarat.

**Focus on Promoting Child Enrollment and Education**
Under the campaign, children aged 5 to 6 years will be enrolled in 'Balvatika' (pre-primary section), while those aged 6 to 7 years will be admitted to Class 1. Additionally, students who have passed Class 8 will be enrolled in Class 9, and those who have passed Class 10 will be enrolled in Class 11, ensuring their education continues without interruption.

This marks the 24th year of the government's education campaign. During the three-day event, the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, cabinet ministers, and officers from the IAS, IPS, and IFS cadres will visit various schools across the state. By participating in enrollment activities, they will raise public awareness and encourage the enrollment of as many children as possible.

**Officials to Visit Schools and Boost Enrollment**
According to the state government, approximately 465 dignitaries and senior officials will participate in this campaign. They will visit various schools to assist with the enrollment process. Furthermore, they will hold discussions with School Management Committees (SMCs) to review the schools' academic performance, infrastructure, and other achievements. The government stated that this enrollment festival will be organized with the active participation of school management committees, parents, and residents. The main objective of the campaign is to bring as many children as possible into the school system and encourage them to continue their education.
