If you also want to relive those golden days of your childhood this summer and want to give a healthy, chemical-free treat to your children, then nothing can be better than ‘Raw Mango Chuski’. This recipe by famous chef Tarla Dalal is a perfect blend of sour, sweet and spicy memories, which will take you straight to that corner of your childhood. It is also very easy to make from this.

Why is this the best summer treat?

Artificial colors, saccharin (fake sugar) and preservatives are often used in ice popsicles available in the market, which can be harmful for health. On the contrary, this homemade raw mango popsicle is not only completely natural, but the spices used in it like mint, cumin and black salt also help in cooling the stomach in summers and protecting it from heatstroke. In a way, this is a fun frozen and cooling incarnation of ‘Aam Panna’.

Raw Mango Popsicles Recipe (Raw Mango Chuski)

Ingredients for Raw Mango Popsicle

2 cups coarsely chopped raw mango (with peel removed)

3/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup chopped mint leaves

1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper

1/4 tsp roasted cumin powder

1/2 tsp black salt

make like this

It is very easy to make this recipe. Just follow the steps given below and your refreshing chuki is ready:

Step 1: Cooking the Carry

First of all, take chopped raw mango curry pieces in a deep pan or kadai. Add 3/4 cup sugar and a little water (enough water to submerge the mango pieces). Now slow down the gas flame and let it cook for about 10 minutes. When the mangoes become completely soft and transparent and the sugar syrup thickens, turn off the gas and let the mixture cool completely.

Step 2: Spice Magic and Blending

When the boiled curry cools down, transfer it along with the syrup to a mixer grinder jar. Now add fresh mint leaves, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder, 1/4 teaspoon roasted cumin powder and 1/2 teaspoon black salt. Also add about one and a half cups of water to it so that its consistency becomes perfect. Now run the mixer and blend it until it becomes a smooth and uniform puree.

Step 3: Setting in Molds

Pour this prepared spicy green mixture in equal quantity in ice cream or candy molds. If you do not have moulds, you can also use small steel glasses or paper cups. After pouring the mixture into the molds, insert ice cream sticks (wood sticks) in the middle.

Step 4: Waiting for Freezing

Now keep these molds in the freezer to set for at least 8 hours or overnight. Sabar fruit is sweet, so give it enough time to set properly.

Desi and spicy twist of serving

When the popsicles are completely set, remove the molds from the freezer. To demould them easily, dip the lower part of the mold in normal water for a few seconds, this will allow the sips to come out easily without breaking.

Now comes the real magic step! After taking it out in a plate, sprinkle a little black salt and a pinch of red chili powder over the sip. This combination of sweet and sour mango with hot chilli and black salt will double your taste.
