Hollywood star Timothée Chalamet is set to make his animated film debut with the upcoming sci-fi project Not Alone, an alien-themed feature in which he will share screen space with Selena Gomez.

In the film, Chalamet will voice Joe, an introverted rocket mechanic who leads a quiet and isolated life. Selena Gomez will voice Fran, a talented astro-botanist working on an ambitious scientific breakthrough—developing the world’s first plant-powered rocket.

The announcement was made at the Annecy Animation Festival, according to entertainment outlet Variety.

About the Film

Not Alone is being developed under Illumination Entertainment and will be distributed by Universal Pictures. The animated feature is slated for release in April 2027.

The project is directed by Jonathan del Val, along with Claire Dodgson and Eric Guillon, and is expected to combine science fiction storytelling with emotional and character-driven narrative elements.

With two major Hollywood names leading the voice cast, the film is already generating significant interest ahead of its release.
