Portugal produced an emphatic display at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, on Tuesday, with veteran forward Cristiano Ronaldo leading the way by scoring two first-half goals.

Ronaldo opened the scoring in the sixth minute before defender Nuno Mendes doubled Portugal's advantage 11 minutes later. Uzbekistan briefly thought they had pulled a goal back when Azizjon Ganiyev found the net in the 29th minute, but the effort was disallowed following a VAR review after Abbosbek Fayzullayev was judged to have fouled João Cancelo in the build-up.

Ronaldo struck again in the 39th minute to give Portugal a comfortable 3-0 lead at halftime.

The second half brought little relief for Uzbekistan. Goalkeeper Abduvokhid Nematov was credited with an own goal in the 60th minute, extending Portugal's lead to four. Substitute Rafael Leão completed the scoring in the 87th minute to seal a dominant 5-0 victory.

The match was officiated by Moroccan referee Jalal Jayed.

Following the second round of Group K fixtures, Portugal sit at the top of the table with four points, while Uzbekistan remain bottom without a point.

Portugal will face Colombia in their final group-stage match on June 28, while Uzbekistan take on DR Congo on the same day.
