Method
- First of all, mash the boiled potatoes well in a bowl. Add green chilli, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, chaat masala, salt and coriander and mix well.
- Spread a layer of prepared potato stuffing on a bread slice. Place a slice of cheese on top of it and then cover it with another bread slice. Prepare the sandwich by pressing lightly. If you want, you can cut it in triangular shape.
- Mix gram flour, rice flour, turmeric, red chilli powder, salt and baking soda in a vessel. Prepare a thick and smooth batter by adding water slowly. Keep in mind that the solution should neither be too thin nor too thick.
- Heat oil in a pan. Dip the prepared bread sandwich thoroughly in the gram flour solution and put it in hot oil. Fry on medium flame until golden and crisp on both sides.
- Take out the fried pakodas on tissue paper to remove excess oil. Serve them hot with green chutney, tamarind chutney or tomato sauce.
Tips to enhance taste
- Use paneer lightly seasoned with chaat masala.
- Adding a little celery to the solution improves both taste and digestion.
- You can also add some semolina or cornflour to gram flour for more crispness.
- Always fry the pakodas on medium flame, this way they get cooked well from inside.
- Hot Paneer Bread Pakoda with tea will not only make your breakfast special, but will also definitely get you praised in front of the guests.
