The company has launched the Redmi 17C smartphone in two variants namely 4GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB. The 4GB+64GB variant of this smartphone is priced at CNY 799 which is around Rs 12,000 and the 4GB+128GB variant is priced at CNY 899 which is around Rs 13,000. Launched with dual-SIM support, the new Redmi smartphone is based on HyperOS 3. The smartphone features a 6.88-inch HD+ (720×1,640 pixels) display, which supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The display offers a touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz and a global brightness of 600 nits. The screen has received TÜV Rheinland’s ‘Low Blue Light’, ‘Circadian Friendly’ and ‘Flicker-Free’ certifications.
Talking about performance, the Redmi 17C is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra chipset, paired with an ARM Mali-G52 MC2 GPU, 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. The older Redmi 17C smartphone is also based on the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra chipset.
For photography, the new Redmi smartphone has a 13-megapixel rear camera. A 5-megapixel camera is provided on the front side for selfies and video calling.
The new smartphone packs a 5,160mAh battery, which supports wired fast charging up to 18W. The company has provided a 10W charger in the retail box.

The Redmi 17C smartphone offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, WiFi Direct, GPS, Beidou, Galileo, GLONASS, AGNSS and a 3.5mm audio jack. It has sensors like accelerometer, ambient light sensor, electronic compass and virtual proximity sensor. The device features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.
