Liverpool Weigh Up Move for Premier League Winger as RB Leipzig Demand €130m for Diomande

Liverpool are reassessing their attacking transfer plans after RB Leipzig reportedly indicated they would only consider selling Yan Diomande if an offer in the region of €130 million is tabled. The 19-year-old winger from Ivory Coast remains one of Liverpool’s prime targets, but Leipzig’s steep valuation has made negotiations extremely complicated, according to sources familiar with the agents’ circle.

The Reds have already lined up several backup options in case Leipzig refuse to lower their price.

This approach aligns with Andoni Iraola’s vision for the team. The Liverpool manager is eager to inject more pace, intensity, and one-on-one attacking threat into the front line as the club continues to refresh its offensive setup.

Diomande fits the desired profile perfectly, but committing such a large sum for a teenager would be a bold move — even for a club seeking to make a major statement in the market.

If Liverpool conclude that Leipzig’s valuation is unrealistic, they are expected to turn their attention to Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh. The 21-year-old winger has emerged as one of the leading alternative targets, with the club setting aside a budget of around £40 million for his potential acquisition.

Minteh embodies the type of player Iraola favours — quick, direct, and relentless in pressing. His high-intensity style without the ball would make him an excellent fit for Liverpool’s energetic approach.

While Minteh may not carry Diomande’s superstar price tag, he could represent better value for money and still offers considerable potential for growth.

Another player under consideration is Bradley Barcola. Contract extension talks between Barcola and Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly stalled, with both Liverpool and Arsenal closely monitoring developments.

An interesting knock-on effect could emerge here: if PSG manage to sign Diomande ahead of Liverpool, they might be more inclined to part ways with Barcola to maintain squad balance and financial stability. In that scenario, Liverpool could explore the opportunity with a bid in the region of £80 million.

Other names being tracked by the Reds include West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville, Lille’s Matias Fernandez-Pardo, and Köln’s promising youngster Said El Mala.

Although Liverpool’s primary goal remains to sign a dynamic winger, their recruitment strategy appears adaptable. Diomande remains the top choice, but the club’s contingency plans are already well in motion.
