There will be no election for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council in the monsoon session in Maharashtra. Such information has been received from sources. This information has come to light amid the discussion once again on the name of Shiv Sena's Neelam Gorhe for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council. After the end of Neelam Gorhe's term, Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena has again made her a candidate for the Legislative Council.
The names of Nandurbar Legislative Council members Chandrakant Raghuvanshi and Bachchu Kadu are also being considered in the party for the post of Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council. According to sources, instead of holding elections, a decision on this Shiv Sena quota seat will be taken by calling a one-day special session.
In fact, there has been a lot of turmoil in the politics of the state for the last few days. Bachchu Kadu joined the party of Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. At present Bachchu Kadu is the MLA. On the other hand, Thackeray's party got divided for the second time. Six of his MPs have rebelled. Amidst all these developments, the monsoon session is going on in the state.
The opposition is cornering the ruling party on all issues like loan waiver of farmers, losses to farmers, lack of rain and law and order. Till now it was being said that elections for the post of Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Council will also be held in the same monsoon session, but now along with this election, many information has also come to light regarding the selection of the leader for the post of Deputy Speaker.
The post of Deputy Speaker of the Assembly is with Eknath Shinde's party. This post is currently vacant due to the end of Neelam's tenure. Earlier it was being said that this election could be held in the monsoon session, but now information has come to light that the election of the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly will not be held in the monsoon session.
On the other hand, names of Nandurbar Assembly MLA Chandrakant Raghuvanshi and Shinde's party MLA Bachchu Kadu are under consideration for the post of Deputy Speaker of the Assembly. Sources have said that the decision on this seat falling in Shiv Sena quota will be taken by calling a one-day special session without holding elections in the current monsoon session.
