Nirjala Ekadashi 2026 Puja Subh Muhurat: Today is the fast of Nirjala Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month. This is considered to be the biggest and most virtuous Ekadashi fast of the year. There is a religious belief that Nirjala Ekadashi provides the virtuous results of all Ekadashi fasts. Today devotees are observing Nirja fast. This fast will be broken tomorrow i.e. on 26th June. The importance of fasting on Nirjala Ekadashi has been mentioned in Mahabharata and many Puranas.

According to mythological beliefs, by observing fast on this Ekadashi of Jyeshtha Shukla Paksha, Pandu's son Bhima had attained the virtuous results of all Ekadashi fasts. On this day, along with keeping a waterless fast, Lord Shri Hari Vishnu is also worshipped. It is believed that the worship and fasting done on this day liberates the soul of a person from the cycle of birth and death. According to Drik Panchang, today on Nirjala Ekadashi, the auspicious time of worship of Lord Vishnu will start at 10.39 am and this auspicious time of worship will last till 02.09 pm. Performing puja during this time will be very beneficial.

Today Brahma Muhurta was from 04:05 AM to 04:45 AM. Abhijeet Muhurta will be from 11:56 am to 12:52 am. Ravi Yoga started today at 05.25 am. This yoga will last till 04:29 in the evening. Apart from this, the effect of Siddha Yoga is going to be there from 10.53 am till late night. Shiva Yoga will remain active before Siddha Yoga is formed. Today is also the coincidence of Thursday and Ekadashi.

Nirjala Ekadashi Puja Vidhi

  • On the day of Nirjala Ekadashi, wake up in the morning in Brahma Muhurta and take a pledge to fast and worship.
  • After this, wear clean clothes and spread a yellow colored cloth on a platform.
  • Place the idols of Vishnu and Lakshmi on it. Worship both of them together.
  • Offer incense, lamp, fruits and yellow colored sweets or dishes to God.
  • You can also offer it to God by adding basil leaves in kheer.
  • Read the story of Nirjala Ekadashi fast.
  • Sit and chant the mantras of Lord Vishnu.
  • In the end, perform the aarti of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu.
