According to beauty expert Kavita, you can perform this simple treatment at home in just two easy steps. It requires minimal preparation. First thing in the morning, take a large bowl—one big enough to easily submerge your face—fill it with plain water, and place it in the freezer until it is thoroughly chilled. The water should be cold enough to make your finger feel numb upon contact.
If you do not have time to chill the water in the morning, you can try an alternative method: take ice cubes from the freezer, put them in a large bowl, and add a little plain water. Your ice-cold water will be ready in just one minute.
Once the water is ready, submerge your face in it for a few seconds and then lift it out. Repeat this process at least 15 to 20 times each morning. When such cold water suddenly comes into contact with your facial skin, it causes the pores to contract and tighten immediately. This firms the skin, reduces facial puffiness, and helps gradually diminish fine lines.
Beauty expert Kavita notes that this treatment is particularly beneficial for women over the age of 25, as this is when fine lines and signs of aging typically begin to appear. Young children should not undergo this treatment.
You will notice the effects of this ice-water therapy after just the first session. You can also use this method right before applying heavy makeup; it controls excess facial oil and helps your makeup stay intact for at least four hours. Doing this before attending a party or function gives your face an instant glow.
