Traveling in India has now become so expensive that you can travel abroad for the same money. This has been proved again by the post of an influencer. A person named Paritosh Sharma shared an experience of his friend on X (earlier Twitter), which is now going viral.
Paritosh told that one of his friends was planning to go to Rishikesh from Mumbai via Delhi. But when he saw the rates of the hotels there, he was shocked. The fare for decent hotels ranged from Rs 9,000 to Rs 15,000 for a night. Apart from this, a one-way flight from Mumbai to Delhi was costing around Rs 7,000 to Rs 8,000.
After this, the friend did some research and found that one can travel to Sri Lanka in the same budget. According to the post, 5-star beach hotels in Sri Lanka were available for just Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 per night. Then what, the friend canceled the plan of Rishikesh and booked a ticket to Sri Lanka.
Paritosh wrote that in Sri Lanka he got better experience, clean air and peaceful environment for less money. Expressing concern, he said that Indian tourism is becoming very expensive and if this continues, the country will stop receiving tourists.
