Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Mahesh Dixit will be the new chief of the Intelligence Bureau (IB). Sources said that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the appointment of Mahesh Dixit as IB chief. According to sources, Dixit, a 1993 batch IPS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre, will replace Tapan Kumar Deka as IB director.
He told that Mahesh Dixit is currently working as a Special Director in IB and he has the experience of working as the Chief of the State Intelligence Bureau in Jammu and Kashmir for a long time.
Let us tell you that the current IB director is retiring on June 30. After his retirement, Mahesh Dixit will officially take charge of IB. Mahesh Dixit is a 1993 batch IPS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre. At present he is working as Special Director in IB. He has held many important responsibilities in the agency for a long time. It is believed that he has considerable experience in intelligence operations.
