WhatsApp has several built-in features that many users overlook. From organizing important conversations to managing multiple accounts, these simple tricks can help you use the app more efficiently and improve your overall messaging experience.
1. Pin important chats
If your important conversations get buried under dozens of group messages, use the Pin Chat feature. Simply press and hold the chat you want to prioritize, then tap the pin icon. The selected chat will remain at the top of your chat list so you can access it quickly.
2. Send yourself a message
You can save reminders, links, documents, or shopping lists by sending yourself messages on WhatsApp. Open a new chat, select your contact, and start messaging yourself. It's a handy way to keep important information in one place without having to use a separate notes app.
3. Edit the message after sending
Made a typo or sent the wrong message? WhatsApp lets you edit a sent message within 15 minutes. Press and hold the message, select the edit option, make the necessary changes, and resend it without deleting the original conversation.
4. Protect private chats with Chat Lock
For enhanced privacy, WhatsApp has a Chat Lock feature that protects selected conversations. Open Chat Settings, turn on Chat Lock, and authenticate using your phone's fingerprint, face recognition, or passcode. Locked chats are protected from unauthorized access.
5. Run two WhatsApp accounts on one phone
If your smartphone supports dual SIM cards, you can use two WhatsApp accounts on the same device. Many Android phones offer features like Dual Apps, App Cloning, or Parallel Apps. By enabling this option in your phone's settings, you can install or clone WhatsApp and use separate personal and work accounts at the same time.
