Love someone else, but marry someone else under pressure from family. Such love-triangle stories are often reaching bloody ends. The murder of Ketan Aggarwal in Pune is also a similar story, which has raised many questions. The biggest question is why Sia Goyal did not refuse to marry her future husband Ketan instead of killing her?
The matter is that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary loved each other. But Siya's marriage was fixed with Ketan Aggarwal. Siya was not happy with this marriage, so she along with her lover conspired to murder Ketan and carried it out. Now the question arises that Siya could have simply refused the marriage and married Chetan, then what was the need to kill an innocent Ketan? We tried to find out the answer to this question from psychologists.
According to psychologist Dr. Binda Singh, there are many mental and social reasons behind such incidents. She says that when a girl does not get the freedom to express her views in the family, her feelings are not understood, then she looks for support outside. Feeling suffocated and pressured at home for a long time can change his behavior. Sometimes love gradually turns into obsession. In such a situation, a person feels that he has no other option left. He takes hasty decisions without understanding the difference between right and wrong. Social media and virtual world are also distancing people from real life. People get so lost in their created world that they do not even know the difference between truth and imagination. However, experts also say that without a complete investigation, no firm verdict can be given on the mental condition of any accused.
To understand such cases, the Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC) conducted an important study in 2020. This study was on women who murdered their partners. This research was based on 115 cases recorded in Australia between 2004 and 2014. Research found that about 48 percent of the murders were done with complete planning. This means that these did not happen suddenly out of anger, but were a pre-planned conspiracy. Some women attacked their partners while they were sleeping, while some committed murder with the help of their lovers. Research also revealed that most of these women were facing domestic violence, mental or physical torture for a long time. In some cases, the issue of self-defense also came to the fore. Therefore, it is not right to look at every case from the same perspective.
According to the AIC report, the cases of women accused have been broadly divided into three categories.
The report also shows that men and women often have different methods when it comes to committing crimes. Women more often adopt methods like taking help from a third person, giving poison, attacking while sleeping or making plans in advance. But this does not mean that every girl should be weighed on the same scale.
