If you have a small space in your balcony or terrace and you want to grow tomatoes in it, then cherry tomatoes will be the best option for you. With proper care the plant will start bearing fruits in 60 to 80 days. The taste of cherry tomatoes is sour and it helps in making the food tasty. To plant cherry tomatoes, you will need a special type of seed. You can easily purchase cherry tomato seeds from any nursery or garden store. First sow the seeds in a seedling tray or small pot. When the plant grows a little, you can repot it in a larger pot. Choose a pot about 12 to 15 inches deep and plant the cherry tomatoes. In this you will have to use 50% garden soil, 30% compost and 20% sand. Make sure to make drainage holes in the pot beforehand so that the cherry tomato plant does not rot.

Cherry tomatoes require 6–8 hours of direct sunlight. The better the sunlight the Cherry Tomato plant gets, the faster the fruits will grow. Cherry Tomato can be easily planted from summer to winter season.
Cherry tomato plant requires wood or stick. By providing support, the branches of the plant will not break nor will the fruits fall into the ground. When the plant grows, you can stick it near the pot. When the soil starts drying, maintain moisture in it and avoid over-watering. If yellow leaves appear on the plant, remove it immediately.
Tomato fruits start appearing in 60-80 days. By timely harvesting, new flowers will start appearing on the plant and new fruits will also be formed.
