Desk: Renault will launch the updated Kwid in the Indian market on July 3, 2026. Apart from announcing the launch date, the French automaker has not shared any other information about the hatchback. However, the first pictures revealed that the update will be mainly cosmetic.
The test model is seen wearing camouflage around the front fascia, Renault badges and tail lamps, which suggests that there have been some styling changes and not a completely new design. The facelift is expected to include a new grille, updated bumpers and revised lighting elements, bringing the Kwid’s design in line with Renault’s new styling.
Some changes are also expected in the cabin. Although Renault has not yet confirmed any new features, the updated Kwid may see a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster and minor changes in the dashboard layout. Talking about the engine, there is no possibility of any significant change in the Kwid. It will retain the existing 1.0 liter, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine which generates 65 bhp power and 96 Nm torque. Customers will continue to get the option of five-speed manual gearbox or five-speed AMT.
Renault has already launched the next generation Duster, while its seven-seater variant is going to hit the market soon. The Kwid has been on sale in India for over a decade and remains Renault’s most affordable offering. Once launched, this new model will compete with cars like Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and Maruti Suzuki Celerio.
