Successful Bomb Threat Drill Conducted at Kangra Airport

Gaggal (Kangra), June 27: A successful mock drill simulating a bomb threat took place at Kangra Airport, orchestrated under the guidance of the Chief Security Officer and overseen by Airport Director Shri Amit Saklani. The exercise was spearheaded by Chief Aviation Security Officer and Police Inspector Shri Praveen Kumar.


The drill involved active participation from various entities, including the Airports Authority of India (AAI), Airport Police Security Unit (APSU), Bomb Disposal Squad, and other relevant stakeholders. The Bomb Disposal Squad showcased their standard operating procedures, which included inspecting suspicious items, securing the vicinity, and neutralizing potential threats with specialized tools.


The primary aim of this exercise was to evaluate the readiness, coordination, rapid response capabilities, and the effective application of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in the face of a bomb threat. All participating agencies worked in close collaboration, ensuring that the drill was executed smoothly and without incident.


Officials highlighted the importance of conducting such regular mock drills to enhance security measures and ensure prompt and effective responses during emergencies.
