The Democratic Republic of Congo will face Uzbekistan in a crucial match scheduled for 1:30 a.m. this Sunday, a fixture that could determine their survival in the competition. The Congolese side will need every ounce of strength and support to stay in contention.

However, one familiar face will be missing from the stands. The renowned Congolese supporter, Lumumba Vea, will not be present for the match. According to reports from L'Équipe, the passionate fan failed to secure a visa to enter the United States.

Michel Kuka Mboladinga, widely known for his vibrant and unwavering support of the national team, has an appointment with the US embassy in Belgium early next week to resolve the issue. There is hope that his situation may be settled before DR Congo’s potential round of 16 clash.

Reacting to the news, DR Congo’s ambassador to the United States, Kapinga Yvette Ngandu, expressed optimism about Mboladinga’s eventual attendance. She said, “I hope he will be able to bring his own unique way of supporting the team.”

If the visa process is completed in time, Lumumba Vea could yet rejoin his compatriots to cheer on the Leopards in the knockout stages, continuing a long tradition of spirited fandom that has made him a beloved symbol among DR Congo supporters.
