Do you know the sure trick to clean the roof like a whole pond in the monsoons?

Monsoon means the melody of Meghmallar. The sound of rain outside the window. And a cup of hot tea. But this pleasant atmosphere can be spoiled in a moment, if you see that the roof of your house has become a pool of water. A thousand brooms can’t bring down the water? On the one hand, the fear of catching salt from the ceiling of the house, on the other, the breeding of dengue-malaria mosquitoes. The joy of monsoon fades instantly. This problem is mainly due to blockage of the drainage pipe or steep slope of the roof. But don’t worry. You can easily waterproof your roof with these 5 simple ways.

what to do
(১) First look at the drain pipe. Sometimes it looks clean from the top, but the water gets narrowed by the accumulation of moss, mud or dust in the depth of the pipe. Pour a good quality liquid drain cleaner into the mouth of the pipe to remove this blockage. Or by mixing caustic soda with boiling hot water and pouring it into the pipe, all the accumulated dirt will melt and clear instantly.

(২) If the plastic or tree leaves are stuck too deep in the pipe, a simple stick won’t work. Purchase a ‘drain snake’ or flexible spring-wire from the hardware store. If you insert it into the pipe and twist it, the stuck dirty wire will come out.

(৩) Place a high net or ‘dome grate’ over the mouth of the pipe to prevent leaves or debris from clogging the water later. Flat netting is completely blocked by leaves, but the advantage of tall netting like a cage is that even if the leaves accumulate, water can easily drain through the sides.

(৪) If there is water pooling in a particular area due to poor leveling of the roof, you can temporarily ‘siphon’ the water with a long plastic pipe or use a water vacuum cleaner to drain the pooled water. This will dry the roof quickly.

(৫) But if this problem becomes a permanent disease every year, then it should be understood that there was a lump in the plastering of the roof or in the making of the shield. As soon as the monsoon subsides, call a skilled mason to fix the slope or ‘slope’ of the roof. Apart from this, a good waterproofing coat on the roof will prevent water from seeping into the house even if it accumulates. A little bit of awareness can help protect your home from this major threat of monsoon.
