The investigation into the murder of 26-year-old businessman Ketan Agarwal at Maharashtra's Lohagad Fort has uncovered new details that, according to police, point to extensive planning before the fatal incident. Investigators allege that the two accused, Siya Goyal and her alleged boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary, researched ways to commit murder online, conducted trial runs at the crime scene, and attempted to erase digital evidence before carrying out the alleged attack.
Crime Scene Reconstruction Conducted
On Sunday, Pune Rural Police took Siya to Lohagad Fort under tight security to recreate the sequence of events.
Investigators retraced the movements of the accused at the fort and recorded the reconstruction as part of the ongoing probe.

According to the police investigation, the accused allegedly searched the internet for methods of committing murder before the incident. Investigators claim they also made advance visits to the fort to identify a suitable location from where Ketan could allegedly be pushed into the valley.
Police further allege that the pair prepared Plan C in case their plan failed. They are also suspected of rehearsing what they would tell investigators if questioned after the incident.
As part of the probe, officers found that chat histories and recycle bins had allegedly been removed from their mobile phones. The devices have now been sent to a forensic laboratory, where experts are attempting to recover the erased data.
Investigators Probe Earlier Incident
Police say the murder may not have been the first attempt on Ketan Agarwal's life.
According to investigators, an incident on June 14 at the same fort is also under scrutiny. Police allege that Siya Goyal had taken Ketan to Lohagad Fort that day and allegedly tried to push him off a cliff.
Investigators claim Ketan survived after grabbing onto bushes growing along the edge of the hill.
Police further allege that Siya immediately claimed she had seen a snake and suggested that the incident occurred accidentally while trying to avoid it. Investigators believe this explanation was intended to divert suspicion.
Second Trip Planned Around Birthday
Following the alleged failed attempt, police claim Siya invited Ketan back to Lohagad Fort on June 18, using her birthday celebration as the reason for another trekking trip.
Investigators allege that Chetan Chaudhary had already reached the location. According to police, once Ketan approached a predetermined spot near the cliff, Chetan allegedly emerged from hiding and pushed him into a gorge approximately 400 feet deep, resulting in his death.
Lavish Wedding Plans End in Tragedy
Ketan and Siya got engaged earlier this year and were scheduled to marry in November.
As per reports, Ketan's family had booked a luxury palace in Jaipur for around Rs. 17 crore for the wedding celebrations and had even arranged two private aircraft to transport relatives and guests.
During interrogation, police allege Siya stated that she considered eliminating Ketan easier than confronting her family or ending the engagement. This alleged statement forms part of the investigation.
Family Seeks Witnesses to Come Forward
A candlelight march was held at Ketan Agarwal's residential society in Gahunje on Saturday evening, where family members and residents demanded justice.
Ketan's father, Vishal Agarwal, appealed to anyone who visited Lohagad Fort on June 18 to share any information that could help investigators.
He said several individuals had contacted the family through social media claiming they had witnessed suspicious activity but were reluctant to approach the police. He urged them to cooperate with authorities, assuring them that genuine witnesses would not face legal complications.
